A lot of people think more highly of themselves than they should, just because they are doing some things others are not doing. We've been gifted according to God's grace. He has given us those gifts to serve others, not ourselves. So, lets not look over our shoulders to see what others are doing or not doing. Look at how God may be able to use you in his kingdom today. We can't all play the same part (instrument) in God's band of service, but we should all play in harmony.

Just remember God led u all the way through the years and the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart and for you to keep what was given to you or not. God gave me a humbling reminder of how vital it is to keep my heart set on what I do today and to pay attention along the way. To love God is to listen with your heart.

Hospitality opens the door to uncommon community. It's no accident that hospitality and hospital come from the same Latin word, for they both lead to the same result; healing. When you open your door to someone ,you are sending a message. "You matter to me and to God." You may think you are saying,"Come over for a visit." But, what your guest hears is, "I am worth the effort." Yet, be cautious because it may turn into an someone taking advantage of you and harm your household. Put it in prayer...

With Faith We do Have Certainty

Life is like watching sports, there are shocks and surprises, frustrations and fears because we are unsure of the outcome. We can draw comfort, however, from the fact that though many of life's situations are uncertain, faith looks beyond this transient life with hope. With faith it is not a vague life and of wistful hope, but with firmness, trust, and certainty. Peace rules the day when God rules the heart.

God Through Us

It has to be demonstrated.. You can't just speak it; You can't describe it. People have got to be able to hold it and see it. Your faith should not just come from the wisdom of other people. As we live each day, ask God to help your words align with your actions. When we allow God to show himself through us, it is a powerful demonstration of his grace and love. No matter where you have found God- whether it in the streets, at a meeting, or at the church house keep him close.

We Veer Off Track... But..

Don't worry, I know exactly where I'm going when we veer off track. Alot of times people need help getting back on track spiritually. We may veer of course because to think we know best, or because we feel we deserve to. Failing to notice is not the walk God wants for us. When we're going off course God triggers the alarm in our conscience. When we ignore the warning which we do so many times (like myself) it is harmful to ourselves. With God's help and guidance, we can continue on a path that is pleasing to Him. We are never alone, because we have the spirit within us.

God Lifts Our Burdens

Today we gather some simple ingredients along with following some simple steps to learn how to live life. Wouldn't it be nice if life could be like that? Just follow a few easy steps then enjoy a happy life. But life is not so simple because we make our world hard to live in. Life will never be free of pain, loss, injustice or suffering. When we allow God to completely carry us (which is hard to do because we are human and think we need not to depend on no one) through heartaches and dark experiences, when the trials of this life make you weary and your troubles seem too much to bear, God wants to help lift those burdens.

Let Your Light Shine

A thriving community of construction workers, teachers, students, and people in general are working to build a better life. When believers in God work together in unity, their fellowship of meetings whether at a church house, or on the streets, our faith provides spiritual light in the world's darkness. As individuals we are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill that can't be hidden. . . . Let your light shine unto the lost- that they may see and glorify God in heaven. Lift up your lamp that others may see. Today help the lost to find their way home when your life shines brightly.

Humble Yourself to God

As an addict, when things are going good we forget about the troubles and think we are better somehow than those who are struggling. We forget the affects of addiction and the fallen are discriminated. We are all loved by God and we need him in the good times and bad. God give us the humility not to act like those who accused us during our trials. Show us how to help those who are struggling (like myself) so that we might give the kind of encouragement you gave me. Humility toward God is important to make us gentle toward others.

Let Go Move Forward

As recovering addicts or people in general taking a righteous path we are doing our best to recover from our old ways including handling our old friendships and relationships. There are times people just want to hang on for their own selfishness. God teach them and myself how to let go so the new life you desire for me will move forward.

God direct us to You

I tend to get stuck in my ways, so anything that gets in the way of my plans can be very annoying. Worse yet, life's diversions are always unsettling and painful. I recall not having to go into the jungle to meet God in the wilderness, all I had to do was look deep inside myself. God teach us to adjust our plans to yours because you have greater things in store for us than we could ever dream of. God please teach us to be patient and allow you to work out the circumstances of our lives. Let God direct or redirect your steps.

Forgive and Speak through the Holy Spirit

Instead of creating the kind of verbal attack that can and will destroy relationships, families, and meetings, let's watch our tongue and leave it to God's control. Let your words be helpful. In times of crisis, our sense of what is truly important in life often comes into clear focus and the realization of God's anger. Let the beauty of God be upon all of us. We are not Perfect

As we anticipate the coming celebration of another day, I begin to think about the sacrifice God made for me. Today (during lent), we want to make a sacrifice of our own... because we want to be successful we willingly give up a temptation that is hard for us. Yet even then, I may fail. It reminds me that I am not perfect.

God is a Prayer Away

When we are scared out of our minds, we are pushed beyond our limits, or our well-being is challenged and in danger, we involuntarily resort to prayer, our natural cry to God. When we can't help ourselves, we don't like where we are and want a way out. When we don't like who we are, we want to change. Prayer begins in times of trouble, and it continues because we're always in trouble at some point. Prayer becomes our habitual response to every issue - whether it is good or bad- we face in life. There is more to see... But you know what? God's help is only a prayer away.

Walking by Example

As we do our best to continue on a different path, we have a much more significant invitation to extend: A lot of us have received a new life of faith and want others to experience it too- some will want to do so and some won't. If we commit ourselves to God, (like we did to job, school, etc.) and follow God's way, he will give us life with purpose for each day that comes. If u want someone to know what God will do 4 them, let them see what God has done for you.

"GODSPEED"

"GODSPEED" is also true for alot of us today. We are to treat everyone with kindness (which is hard to do) because GOD is kind to us in so many ways. But when asked to financially support someone's addiction or child, it's important to always ask GOD for wisdom. When our minds and hearts are in line it is always better to tell someone the truth, then let them know GODSPEED to those we encounter. Dear GOD you know my heart. Give me the wisdom to know where you want me to take part and how. GOD's spirit through wisdom gives truth from mistakes.

Put Helplessness in Prayer

I am thankful that GOD answered with a yes this time and we didn't from our addiction or illnesses for you. For many years I've had enough "no's" and "wait" answers and wonder about that. Prayer is powerful, and it's such a mistery. I'm just thankful that GOD wants to hear our hearts and that no matter what the answer, He is still good. All people have an addictive nature, and can do so in all helplessness quite well. GOD, today I recognize my helplessness and your power through prayer as I share my heart with you and others.

Let God Guide You

As we journey thru life, we may think we got it figured out and our thought patterns along with our responses are navigating us through life real good. Yet, GOD interrupts us in the midst of our routine and calls us to a new and better way. No wonder GOD has told us, "My thoughts are not ur thoughts, and my ways are not your ways." So rather than relying on our mixed up instincts, lets ask him for help to reflect on what he wants us to do.

God in Your Life

I can still remember the day I turned my life over to GOD not realizing the final days of my addiction were drawing to a close. My life had held so much sorrow, sickness, and sadness. I was ready to welcome something "new" into my life. GOD is with us. We don't always understand GOD's purposes in the trials we experience, we can trust GOD's heart because he knows us and we get to know him. Faith is believing that GOD is present when all we hear is silence.

Surrender to God

A few years ago when I went thru my addiction, someone gave me one of the greatest gifts and that was teaching me how to surrender to GOD. At that time of accepting GOD's grace I truly felt like I was coming home. Feeling GOD's love through others is a good gift. When we are away GOD has compassion, instead of a lecture or punishment. GOD enables us to open our arms to others, just as his are open wide for us.

Your Plan Or God's Plan

Under it. Through it. Around it. Over it. Nothing will stop us from doing it. That's our attitude when we get an idea and see an opportunity. That seems good or (stupid sometimes) and we use all our resources to get it done. As evidence  of our past that this way of thinking is flawed at times. Although when GOD says no, someone makes a better offer thinking GOD might change His mind. Our story should teach us that not every obstacle is meant to be overcome. Some are place by GOD to keep us from doing something (ignorant) or in a nicer way foolish. When our plans are blocked it is not satan, it is GOD protecting us.

True God

"Choose your GOD." We can and have followed many false GODs of this world, in hopes it will lead us through pain, misery, loneliness and of course death from inside. The world has the made-up Gods. But today be still and allow the TRUE GOD fill the emptiness of your heart and spirit.

Lean on God

Abandoned and forgotten by any human who might help us, gives us a sick feeling of being stranded. You may be stranded in a hospital, a jail cell, or a country far from home, maybe even in your own inner prison. No matter where u are, or how long you've been there. GOD's mercy and kindness can reach you. GOD can and will provide for you when it seems no one else can help us. GOD help us to remember his power when we are not where we want to be in life. Remind us to reach to you God when "no one else can reach us."

Freedom in God

The world watches in amazement as one by one addicts of every kind are being rescued and obtaining their freedom. A lot of us are unable to break free and face certain deaths physically and emotionally. Are you still trapped by your wrong doings? What keeps you from calling out to GOD for spiritual rescue? Do you fear that you are too bad for GOD's grace? Look deep and read from the heart at what GOD has to tell you.

Gratitude

Today I get to enjoy what GOD has given me, even if it is for a short time. Although, I have to confess that I whine to GOD about hard it is to communicate everything I would like to say to people. My GOD BOOK affirms that GOD meets the needs of those who seek. If today you are thinking "I just need a little bit more" of something, consider the possibility that GOD has given u "just enough". We are rich when we realize that we are satisfied with what we have. Because we are human we don't know what that is.

Let Go of the Past

Many years ago people in my life spoke cruel words to me; that make us feel rejected and causes a crushed spirit, which leads to addiction in many forms. Today we share sad stories of difficult upbringing and unhappy marriages. Then we think someone should get even with them. At times I still have bitterness hidden deep within me which strangles my heart. GOD help me not to hide resentment, help me to let go of my bitterness and forgive those who have hurt me even today. Revenge keeps us in prison; forgiveness sets us free.

God in Heart Pain

For myself, when my heart is broken or my life is troubled, there is no "red tape" keeping me from accessing GOD. We may always want to turn to people, even when we fail to realize that the "way" has already been paved to enter boldly at the presence of GOD. Remember, when your heart is hurting GOD will give us the LOVE that we need. GOD is always protecting us--even when we don't realize we need it.

Moving Forward

Sometimes our minds run back to the years and yearn for that better time and place - the "good old days." But for some, the past harbors are only bitter memories and we refuse to move forward. Deep in the night, we ponder on our own failures, disillusions as we dwell on the cruel hard life. It is better to remember the past as the good GOD has done for our future and as a school in which we can learn from. Today, pray that GOD will draw you closer to him. For myself, nothing should come before GOD. As I do my best to recover. It is hard not to want to put other things first. GOD wants to be involved in all areas of our lives. GOD, as I look ahead to another day, help me to be led by your spirit. Help to me continue to have that relationship that you desire for me and to spend time praying so I do not go astray. But most of all, help me to have a sensitive heart.
